It still amazes me how we can't get along.I don't mean everyone hugging, holding hands, and skipping down the street.I mean just acknowledging that we're all human, we all make mistakes, and that we are all capable of excepting eachother. Discluding greed, and improper reasoning.
We are capable of extensive relationships with animals; horses, dogs, cats, fish, you name it. Feeling so deeply at our loss of them, even with our oblivious differences from them, we were still able to love. Still able to treat them with respect, and dignity. Yet we are still unable to except our relation to our fellow human beings. Calling them the spawn of the devil, unholy, uncivilized, and treating them like dirt. Acting as if we are the highest athority, and the greatest example of a proper human only aiding our xenophobia.
Think about this for a second. If you we're to close your eyes, reach out your hand and place it on someone else's shoulder, would you still be able to tell who it is?Not very likely, you might be able to tell their gender, but other than that, your first thought will most likely be that you are touching a human. Unable to judge on what the colour of their skin is, by their religious beliefs, by their sexual orientation, only able to accept them as human.
We only got one world, and not very many chances left. It's not always going to be "If at first you don't succeed, try try again."
"If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you." ~Arthur McAuliff
(this was something I wrote a little while ago when I was angry at moronic people)
