...It's the name of a movie, It's the name of a sound, It's the name of something when you hit the ground.

The plague that spread throughout almost the whole world, known as the Black Plague, majorly impacted the lives of many and caused many repercussions. The Black Death, as it was also known, was thought to be caused by various different reasons, such as it being an act of God's will, but mostly was thought to be caused by the unbelievers. The unbelievers included those who practiced the Muslims and Jewish faiths; The Jewish community was thought to of contaminated the water supply or to of brought it into Italy and then spread from there. This greatly reflects the religious nature of the age due to one of the major causes was thought to be due to the unbelievers, whom brought the plague upon the Christians. This also explains how it was also thought to be an act of God's will; that the plague was God punishing the people of the age. Due to the Jewish community being thought to of contaminated the water supply and/or thought to of brought the plague to Italy, they were persecuted. This was furthered by the believe in the act of God's will and the common hatred for the unbelievers. It was believed that the plague had an adverse affect on the survivors, for it made them less vurtious and made the enemies of the King of France stronger, therefore conducting more wars. Due to the wide spread death caused by the Black Death, a lack of labour was created and therefore workers could obtain a higher wage for their duties. King Edward III wanted to prevent such things from occuring, therefore he imposed the Statute of Labourers, which could be seen as somewhat fair, yet at the same time, harsh to those who would disobey.
