Leonardo was a very curious person; this often lead to repercussions pertaining to his artworks. He would be able to create an outstanding piece of work that would leave a person in awe, yet his curiosity often got the better of him. He had a lust after engineering and often sketched down ideas that brought him further away from any art that would have been working on. This was aided by his various humiliations in court over certain allegations such as worshiping the dead, which brought him even further away from his works. However, the main contributor to his incapability to finish his works was his absent mind that would find a number of things interesting at once and would drag his attention away from his work.
